It would be worthwhile to play and experiment with some of the recent text-to-image generators (aka, AI Art) to see how language-based text prompts (the thinking aspect of imagination) generate novel images (which evoke emotional responses, aka feelings). The interplay of the two (thinking, feeling) enabled by AI art might be a very interesting approach to your work in collective imagination.
